Olynthos.
Close to the modern village of Olynthos, a complex cross-
in-square church, possibly dedicated to Saint Nicholas, has
been excavated, from which low remains are preserved. Judg-
ing by its architecture and other elements (inlay on the floor,
sculpted decoration), the monument can be dated to the sec-
ond quarter of the 11th c. and is related to church architecture
in Thessaloniki.
